Where Shall We Go

Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. John 6:68

Do you have somewhere else to be besides in recovery?  Where and to whom shall you go?  Peter was well aware that there was nowhere else to go.  When we reach that point where we understand that this world has nothing for us, then we are ready to completely surrender ourselves to God.  As believers we “no longer belong to this world”.  As Christians in recovery, we know that surrendering to Christ sets us apart from the world.  We now belong to the Kingdom of Heaven.

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. John 5:19

By James Miller

Father God, I know that I am a citizen of The Kingdom of Heaven.  I no longer belong to the world.  The culture of this broken society does not have a hold on me.  I am yours.  Fill me with the Holy Spirit so that I may be guided in wisdom and truth.  Protect me as I travel as a foreigner in the world and know that my true citizenship is in Your kingdom.
